Detroit CMORoom Recap (June 11, 2026) @ Le Suprême

Last Thursday, Detroit showed up in the best way possible.

Our first Detroit CMORoom was everything we hoped it would be and more. From rooftop views overlooking the city to conversations that stretched well past sunset (and into the weekend), the night was defined by energy, candor, and genuine connection.

What stood out most wasn’t just the caliber of leaders in the room—it was the shared pride in Detroit itself. Throughout the evening, we heard stories of family roots, career pivots, resilience, reinvention, and the deep sense of ownership that comes with building and growing in this city.

A few themes stayed with us:

Innovation started here.

Long before innovation became synonymous with Silicon Valley, Detroit was building, creating, and reinventing industries. That legacy is alive in the leaders and companies shaping the city today.

Community isn’t a buzzword here—it’s a behavior.

People show up. They follow through. They invest in relationships. That sense of mutual support was felt throughout the room.

Great careers are rarely linear.

From agency beginnings and automotive roots to startups, global brands, and executive leadership, many journeys reinforced that growth often comes from embracing uncertainty and learning as you go.

The fundamentals still matter.

Across conversations about retail, brand building, customer experience, and leadership, there was a shared belief that understanding people—and creating meaningful connections—remains at the heart of great marketing.

Experience creates connection.

Bringing the right people together, in the right room, at the right moment still matters. Community doesn’t happen by accident—it’s built.

A special thank you to our Guest of Honor, Casey Hurbis, for sharing his journey and perspective. His stories, leadership lessons, and deep connection to Detroit set the tone for an evening that was equal parts insightful and energizing.

And thank you as well to Andy Cotten, AdMedia, for making nights like this possible.

To everyone who joined us: thank you for helping us launch CMORoom Detroit in such a meaningful way. We couldn’t have asked for a better group of leaders to start this community, and we’re just getting started.
