The building dates back to 1929, when it was commissioned by Charlie Chaplin. Since then, it's been La Brea Bakery, Campanile, and now République, where Chefs Walter and Margarita Manzke have reimagined the space once again through French-inspired cuisine, celebrated pastry, and a distinctly modern point of view.
